Summer Registration

Summer Registration is Wednesday May 25 from 5:00-7:00 and Saturday May 28 from 10:00-12:00, both days at the North Logan Studio. This is for ages 3 and up. Come for a summer of creative movement, and dance technique. We will have a fun summer of dance:)

Congratulations, we are super excited to work with you this year. You all worked really hard at audition and looked great.

You will need to attend the summer registration to register for your performance and ballet classes, it will be held May 25 from 5:00-7:00 pm and May 28 from 10:00-12:00. There is also a mandatory parents meeting on June 7th at 5:30 p.m. in studio 2. At least one parent needs to attend. We will be going over information for being a member of our performance company.

Performance Auditions and Summer Registration

Performance company auditions Thursday May 19th. Come and be a part of our amazing group. Must be 7 -17 yrs old to audition. Registration at 4:30, auditions go from 5:00-7:00 at the North Logan Studio.

Dance Source DVD

If you want to order a Dance Source DVD you will need to place your order by May 18th. To order a DVD contact Stephanie Merrill at 563-9630, if not there leave a voice message on the machine with your name, phone # and number of DVD's. Do not leave messages with kids who might answer the phone, they don't get to her. DVD's are $8.00 and can be pick up during Summer Registration on May 28 from 10:00-12:00.

Full Dress Rehersal

A Full Dress Rehersal will be held on Thursday May 12, at the North Logan studio. You will need to be there at 4:30 until 8:00. Please bring your costumes and dance shoes. There will not be room for parents, sorry but we will need all the rooms for the girls.

A few last minute reminders

A few last minute reminders May 2, 2011

We are at the end of our year. I could not be more excited to see all of your hard work in a few weeks. Each one of you has worked so hard and I can’t wait to see you perform at the Spring Concert.

The Spring Concert is May 14th the show starts at 7:00. Don’t forget your rehearsal and call times (check thedancesource.blogspot.com for class times). You will enter the theater from stage door 3 on the south side of the Ellen Eccles Theater. All fees need to be paid to receive any additional costumes. In order to insure proper credit please do not pay me during rehearsal.

This year your seats for the Spring Concert are reserved seating. Tickets are sold at the Ellen Eccles Box office. Each Dancer should have received their voucher which was good for 2 complementary tickets, that vouchers needs to be redeemed at the box office for your actual ticket. Please remind family and friends who are coming to watch to purchase their tickets at the Ellen Eccles Box Office.

Remember there are no children under 2, no infants, and no babes in arms allowed in the theater during the show, please make prior arrangements for them.

We are having a full dress rehearsal and finale practice on Thursday May 12th, in the North Logan Studio 2300 N. Main from 5:00 until 8:00. You will need to arrive at the studio at 4:30 to get into your 1st costume. You will need to bring all of your costumes and dance shoes. Also those who are helping back stage and with classes we will need you there so you can see what costume and shoes they are to be in. We ask that no parents stay because there will not be room. You will still need to attend your rehearsal and finale practices on May 13th and 14th.

Parking for the North Logan Studio- do not park along the gray building or on the pavement around the gray building. There is parking along the north and east side of the tan building. No parking in front of any doors or garage doors. The studio’s entrance is on the north side of the tan building.

Parking at the Ellen Eccles Theatre – beware that there are boot lots around the Ellen Eccle Theatre and they boot your car if parked there. You can park in Logan High Schools parking lot (enter on 100 S) this is not a boot lot.

All combo and preschool classes will need to have elastic sewn or glued in place of the ribbon in their tap shoes, they will be given a bow next week to glue to that elastic.

We are holding auditions for our performing classes for the 2011-2012 seasons. Refer to your note about the requirements for the performing company classes. They audition will be May 19th. We look forward to having you come be a part of our Performing Company. We will continue to have recreation classes for those who want to dance but not make as big of a commitment. In our recreational class we have our preschool, combo, hip hop and jazz classes that will just perform at the spring concert, as well as classes that will compete at 1or 2 local competitions. The performing classes and the recreation class will be like to our 2010-2011 year.

ELLEN ECCLES THEATRE

BACKSTAGE POLICIES AND GUIDELINES

  1. Food and drink in Ellen Eccles Theatre and Backstage areas are discouraged. If length of rehearsals necessitate food and drink please confine their use to annex area only. There will be absolutely no food or drink allowed anywhere else in the facility. Each individual is expected to clean up after eating. No drinks are to be left unattended at any time.
  2. Do not bring valuables to the facility. The management is not responsible for their safety. All unidentified items left at the theatre will be donated to a local charity that following Monday.
  3. Keep your dressing room(s) neat and clean. Our custodial staff will do the deep cleaning, but they do not have the time to pick up after performers and staff.
  4. Do not enter any area of the facility your company has not rented. (Bullen Center, etc)
  5. Theatre policy is no parents or unauthorized persons are allowed backstage.
  6. No one is to be in the auditorium unless directed by the CVCA for a specific purpose. Placing feet on seats and /or furniture is prohibited. If your child is not rehearsing you will need to wait quietly in the annex, not in the theatre.
  7. At the conclusion of the show you can pick your child up in the annex by accessing a stage door (this will be shown during rehearsal). Your childs items will all be brought up with your child to the annex for pick-up after the show. You will not be allowed down into the dressing rooms.
  8. Dancers overall check list- Send a dance bag that all dance shoes and tights can fit into, and a garment bag for the costumes (clip hair pieces to your costume, or hanger) Make sure all items including bags are labeled with dancers name (do not put names on the outside of shoes or costumes)
  9. Arrive promptly. Please make sure you are in your seat before the performance begins. Traffic and parking can be challenging, so leave home in plenty of time. Those who arrive after curtain time, 7:00; will be seated at the first appropriate break or intermission. Door will not be opened during a dance. Theater will be cleared of all unauthorized person at 3:30 (Only dancers and instructors allowed at this time). House will open at 6:30. We accept no responsibility for inconvenience to latecomers or people leaving their seats. Be respectful of the Theatre staff. The management reserves the right to request any disruptive patron to leave to theatre.
