Performance company hair

This is the hair for Kaleidoscope, Impact and Propel.  I am not the best at describing this hair style but you can look up the knitted braid or reverse pull through braid for a better tutorial and videos.  We will be working our style from the base of the neck up to the top of the head.  I have found that this style is easier to do if you practice going from the top of the head down and then reversing it.

You will need to take small section so we have a lot of bubbles. use elastic that match your hair color they don't completely hid when finished.

Start with a pony tail at the base of the neck

Make a second pony tail just above the first one

pull hair up for a third pony tail but don't elastic it off yet.  Take the first pony tail you did and split it in half.  You will take the halves on each side of the second pony tail and place in the third pony tail.

you will continue this pattern all the way up the head until you get to the forehead.  You will need to be really close to the forehead.  you will always have 2 pony tails.

Once you get to the forehead pull the hair out a little in each of the bubble to make the bubble look bigger.   Now you will now be working with 2 pony tails.  take the back one and split it in half take each half and wrap it around the front pony tail and elastic it off under neath the top pony tail.  keep repeating till you get to the end of hair.  then go back and pull each bubble out a little to make that bubble bigger here as well.

Now you will take the end and twist it back down the right side of the knit braid and bobby pin off.  do not fold the hair over it will show that back of the elastics and not the braid you just made.  tuck the end of the hair that you could not fit into a bubble up so it is hid under the braid.  You will then need to add a lot of hair spray or gel to make sure there are no fly aways.  Bobby pin down any fly aways that are in the braid its self.

It may seem confusing but try it a few times and it will become easier the more you do it.  watch the videos they will be helpful to see how they do it.

Jazz Co Hair and Make up

You will start with making a bubble in the front of your hair, it needs to be big so it can be seen but not too big.  Then make 3 pony tails down the middle of the head.  This is were you will pull the hair back into 3 tight pony tails with no fly aways (use lots of Hair Spray)

This is what it should look like from the front
Next you will take the top pony tail and section off the hair into small pieces.  Twist each hair and then let it loop around and bobby pin it to the head.  Repeat this step until the top pony is all looped up and then move onto the middle pony and then the bottom pony.  This will create a Faux hawk look.  You will then need to spray it down and have your dancer shake her head to make sure everything is bobby pinned in.

The make up will need to be stage make up.  You will need to wear base that cover the face and down the neck.  You will need a brown eye shadow, black eye liner continue the bottom line out a little bit from the eye (kind of like a cat eye look) this will make the eyes look open and bright.  Black mascara, blush and a red lip. Please email dance source@gmail.com if you have any questions.  Ashlee and I will be there to help you.

Remember to have no jewelry, nail polish or toe nail polish we will have you take it off before you go out on the floor.

Your first performance is Tuesday February 23.  Class will be held at the studio from 4-5:30.  you will nee to be to sky view at 6:15 with your hair and makeup done and ready to go!  You can come to class with it done or do it after.

Thanks
